Korn Ferry Futurestep is the RPO division of Korn Ferry. They've looked at the use of technology within Corporations and some of the data is interesting. For us at Dillistone, our typical client is a retained search firm but we do work with increasing numbers of in house search teams at Corporations, Universities and the like. According to this survey, only 48% of responding corporations use an ATS.... while that is eyebrow raising, I wonder what percentage of those Corporations are trying to use an ATS - an Application Tracking Systems - keyword being Applicant - to run an internal executive search team! Executive Search - be it internal or via a firm - is about attracting the best candidates, and these are typically passive. By definition, they do not apply. Using an ATS to track candidates who don't apply is an approach doomed to fail!
Only 48 percent of survey respondents said they use applicant tracking systems for recruitment purposes, a surprisingly low number given that ATS is generally needed for regulatory compliance.
